There's a book in process right now by Victoria Bynum, professor at Texas State University in San Marcos, which will include
Texas Unionists from the Big Thicket. I contributed a couple of newspaper articles to her project right at the very last minute. It's to be called _Southern Communities at War: Essays on Civil War Dissent and its Legacies_, and will be published by the University of North Carolina. Her blog is called
Renegade South. You may recall her name because she's already published a book on the Free State of Jones in Mississippi. Some of the families involved there had members in the Thicket.
