Rally Under the Flag

Sherman/Denison, Texas

Calling all Re-enactors!! Let's Rally Under the Flags!!
The Col. George Reeves' 11th Texas Cavalry Camp #349, Sons of Confederate Veterans, in conjunction with the Grayson County Frontier Village and Museum will be hosting a living history/reenactment. This event has been held the previous three years at Fort Washita, Ok., but this year will be held in Texas to benefit the Frontier Village. "We are hoping that by bringing it back into Texas we will have an even bigger turnout than in the past," Both Confederate and Union troops will be needed all three days. Friday, Gunfights, skirmishes and public interaction, including first person impressions, will be held throughout the event. Local Boy Scout Troops as well as event participants are invited to engage in a Dutch oven cook off on Saturday with a cash prize going to first place. Drawings for swords and knives will also be offered for cash donations.

Camping for re-enactors only will be available within the Frontier Village among original historic buildings. Water and firewood and Saturday evening dinner will also be provided. Grays on County Frontier Village is located within Loy Lake Park located between Sherman and Denison, Tx. just off US Hwy. 75. The park is located approximately 55 miles north of Dallas.
