In preparation for Henkel Square next month, I have created a pair cloth upper flats loosely based on an original antebellum pair that I saved the images from online.

The original: https://2img.net/h/i45.photobucket.com/albums/f56/codymobley/1075.jpg

The reproduction:

This is the first pair of shoes that I have constructed. I've already improved the pattern, so her next pair will be much better.

Any constructive criticism is appreciated....I'm new to making women's clothing.

I love 'em!!! Very well done. I think you'll be in demand after these.

Nicely done! I'm officially jealous. ;-)

Thank you,
Like I said, they are a first attempt. The next ones will be better. Would it be possible for me to have my impression be a shoemaker at the event?

Of course!! It's perfect. You could have just arrived in town, staying with me until you are able to set up shop.

Cody,

What fabric did you use for the shoes? It appears to be a very loose weave. Very nice job by the way!
Best Regards,

Kevin,
The fabric is a tightly woven plains cotton with an odd combination of warp and weft thicknesses which create a raised pattern in the cloth.

Are you coming to the event? I have a hat with your name on it that I'd like to deliver.

Cody

Cody,

Yep, I'm staying with Doc & Mrs. Russell at the Mukleroy House. I look forward to seeing you and the other Hornets.
Best Regards,
Kevin
