[AUSTIN] STATE GAZETTE, April 21, 1860, p. 2, c. 1
We respectfully direct the attention of our readers to the
advertisement in our columns of the Sewing Machines of the Messrs.Grover & Baker, New York. This Machine has been used in several families in this city, and had given the highest satisfaction. The Sewing Machine saving labor and expense has become popular in Texas. We cordially recommend this patent as combining the latest improvements.

Grove & Baker must have really canvased Texas; Affleck has several pages dedicated to their machine in his 1860 almanac.
