The private correspondence of Texas Confederate private Dudley Ward was purchased at a Dallas auction and was added to 35 million historical documents stored in the Land Office Archives.

Dudley Ward joined Company G, 2nd Texas Infantry, Confederate Army at age 17. Early in 1863 he became a Prisoner of War at Vicksburg, Mississippi. Upon parole, Ward's unit returned to Texas and was ultimately assigned duty on Galveston Island.

This link appears to no longer work. The GLO has changed their website and I cannot find this information any longer. I'll post if and when I find a new link.
