I would like to put together a newspaper that can be procured at the general store. I will include actual articles from Texas papers Feb. 1861. However, that is not going to take up much room. So if any of you would like to place an advertisement, want ad or letter to the editor, please let me know.

I print the paper for the Reenactment at Beaumont Ranch. My suggestion is to sell ads to local establishments because getting a paper produced in a period correct appearence is mighty expensive. It costs us $200 to get 1000 copies(the minimum) printed at a local newspaper facility in tablet format and I do all the typesetting

thanks for the suggestion, but we won't be doing anything on that scale. It will be a very simple word document printed out on tabloid size paper to look as close as possible to period.

If we ever become as big as Beaumont Ranch, we might consider using your suggestion.

For future events, I have re-prints of the following

Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper March 9, 1861
Harper's Weekly October 4, 1862
Harper's Weekly December 27, 1862
Harper's Weekly July 25, 1863

It might be appropriate for the store and the photographer to post ads in the paper.

I have the paper somewhat laid out. The deadline to submit stuff for the paper will be Feb. 5.
