Just received my copy of this book. It deals with the antebellum period in Austin and Fayette counties and includes information on the von Roeder and von Rosenberg (of Henkel Square) families. I'll let you all know how it is once I get into it. I'm just dived into another book so it will be a bit before I pick this one up.

I have not yet finished reading this book but I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the German population of Texas and especially for those attending Henkel Square as it provides great background information.
